본 연구는 고등학생의 약물 남용에 대한 태도와 관련요인을 조사하기 위한 단면적 조사 연구이다. 1999년 6월 1일에서 6월 10일까지 부산시 6개 교육구청별로 각 1개 고등학교를 임의 선정하고, 각 학교별로 2개 학급을 임의 선정한 후 질문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였고, 수집된 자료 중에서 총 480부를 분석하였다. 대상자의 약물남용에 대한 태도점수는 평균 10.02점이었으며, 100점을 만점으로 환산하면 16.7%로 약물남용 가능성이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 대상자의 일반적 특성에 따른 약물태도 점수에서 남학생(p≶0.01)과 이성교제 경험이 있는 경우(p≶0.01) 약물태도점수가 높게 나타났다. 가정생활 특성에 따른 약물태도 차이에서 생활수준이 낮은 경우(p≶O.01), 거주지역이 유흥가인 경우(p≶0.01), 아버지의 학력이 낮은 경우(p≶0.01), 부모님과의 관계가 나쁜 경우(p≶0.01) 약물태도점수가 높게 나타났다. 학교생활특성에 따른 약물태도 점수에서 학교생활이 싫은 경우(p≶0.01), 학교성적이 낮은 경우(p≶0.01) 약물태도점수가 높게 나타났다. 현재 고민에서는 이성문제(p≶0.01), 동성친구 문제(p≶0.01), 선생님 관계(p≶0.01), 건강문제 (p≶0.01), 부모님 관계(p≶0.01)로 고민하는 집단에서 약물태도 점수가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 약물교육에 관한 특성에 따른 약물태도 점수에서 약물교육이 중요하지 않다고 한 경우(p≶0.01), 학교 외 교육을 받은 집단(p≶0.05)이 약물 태도 점수가 높았다. 본 연구에서 대상자의 약물태도를 종속변수로 한단변량 분석에서 약물남용 태도에 관련된 요인으로 나타난 변수들을 독립변수로 하여 단계적 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과 남학생인 경우, 거주지역이 주택가에 비해 유흥가인 경우, 부모와의 관계가 나쁘다고 한 경우, 학교생활이 싫다고 한 경우, 이성친구에 관한 고민이 있는 경우, 약물 교육이 중요하지 않다고 인식하는 경우, 학교 외 교육 경험이 있는 경우에 약물태도에 수용적인 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과에 따른 제언으로는 첫째, 청소년의 긍정적인 약물태도 형성을 통해 약물남용을 예방하기 위해서는 대상자의 개인적 특성을 고려한 개별적이고 체계적인 교육프로그램 개발이 필요하다. 둘째, 이성문제, 동성친구 문제, 선생님 관계, 건강문제, 부모님 관계 등의 문제로 고민하는 청소년들이 건전하게 문제를 해결하기 위해 상담 프로그램 개발과 상담교사의 적극적인 활용이 필요하다.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitude and related factors of high school students on drug abuse.
Methods : The study subjects were 480 students from six high schools in Pusan Metropolitan city. One high school was randomly selected from each district office of education and two classes from each grade. The data were collected by a self-administered questionnaire between June 1 and June 10, 1999. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe’test, and stepwise multiple regression analysis in SPSS program were used for data analysis.
Results : The mean score for attitude of the subjects on drug abuse was 10.02 out of a total score of 60 (16.7%), which was a low probability of drug abuse. Boy students revealed a significantly higher score than girl students(p≶O.O1). A high score was associated with low standard of living (p≶O.O1), living in an amusement area(p≶O.O1), low father’s educational level (p≶O.O1), poor relationship with parents (p≶O.O1), unhappy school life(p≶O.O1), poor academic achievement(p≶O.O1), associating with opposite sex(p≶O.O1), poor relationship with friends(p≶0.05), poor relationship with teachers(p≶O.Ol), and having a health problem (p≶O.O1), recognizing drug education being not important (p≶O.O1), and having drug education out of schooJ(p≶O.O1). In multiple regression analysis, a high score, i.e. a high probability of drug abuse, was associated with boy, living in an amusement area, poor relationship with parents, unhappy school life, having problem with friend of opposite sex, recognizing drug education being not important, and having drug education out of school.
Conclusions : Although the level of attitude on drug abuse was relatively low, but many factors were founded to be associated with attitude on drug abuse. Therefore it is necessary to develop a systematic drug education program for adolescents to facilitate the formation of an appropriate attitude on drug abuse.
